With displaced New Orleanians spread out across the United States, Mardi Gras will be introduced into areas untouched by the tradition and culture. I seen that nearby in Texas, a couple from NO are celebrating Mardi Gras amongst a Czech community complete with a parade, beads, and alligator sauce piquante

Well, I appreciate the comment, especially coming from my learned friend. You have really made Hoot's Place your own, with its vast following.
As for as being a Blue Dog Democrat, I empathize with those who have turned blue from their own brethen, but I doubt that they have found any solace with the present "small government, low taxes, less spending republicans."
I was raised a Democrat, became a Reagan Republican, but now is unsure of all but one thing...they're all filthy maggots for the most part.
